About Us

Since its founding in 1984, the Adco Group has developed an exceptional degree of expertise in the design, assembly, fabrication, installation, testing and maintenance of diesel-powered, landfill, natural gas and hydro-electric power systems. In addition, the Adco Group has gained considerable experience in the refitting or relocation of existing power facilities. This year, this dynamic Canadian company has undertaken approximately 80 percent of its projects in Canada's North.

Over the years, the Adco Group has gained extensive experience in the design, manufacture and set up of modular power facilities. This has proven to be a flexible, cost-effective alternative for our customers that face ever changing power requirements.

The use of modular power facilities minimizes a customer's cost by eliminating the need to construct a building for the powerplant. Set up of the modules is simplified, requiring only a concrete pad. Modules can be easily added or removed and shipped to other locations to meet the customer's changing requirements.

The Adco Group offers a variety of modular configurations, including engine modules, switch gear modules and control/utility modules. All units are designed, built and tested at Adco Power's Edmonton facilities and can be easily shipped anywhere in the world. The modules are constructed using high cube sea containers as the shell and can accommodate up to a Caterpillar 3516 genset.

Our management and design teams, expert technicians/fabricators and on-site specialists are all committed to getting the job done right - on time, and on budget. After each project is complete, the Adco Group can provide a number of key support functions, such as the design and implementation of maintenance programs to ensure ongoing success.

With the establishment of the SIMMAX Group of companies in 2001 Adco, being a wholly owned subsidiary, has the advantage of making full use of the synergies between the associated operating companies of SIMMAX. Simson Maxwell being a well established company with 60 years of experience in the power generation supply and repair industry, along with SIMMAX Energy and it's focus on the ever evolving power distribution market only greater empower the Adco Group of Companies and further compliment our already expanding service capacity.

Safety

April 19, 2004 - Adco received the "Certificate of Recognition" from the Alberta Construction Safety Association for the development and implementation of our workplace health and safety management system. This involved an independent safety auditor evaluating and verifying that our health and safety system meets the association's standard.

Adco has also passed the contractor HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment and Community) audit at the BHP Billiton Mine site.

We are, at present, on track to obtain our next Safety Milestone, which is being on the "Alberta Best Safety Performers" for 2004.
